Een liefdesverhaal dat zich afspeelt in een afgelegen dorp in Noord-Senegal. Banel, een jonge vrouw met een geheim, is hopeloos verliefd op Adama, haar jeugdliefde. Ondanks de conventies van hun gemeenschap willen ze hun liefde niet verbergen en besluiten ze hun leven in het afgelegen dorp achter zich te laten. Maar door problemen zoals de aanhoudende droogte en de druk van de dorpsbewoners, ontdekken ze dat waar zij wonen er geen ruimte is voor passies, laat staan chaos.
